"UNITED NATIVE AMERICA"

Celebrate their past.  Take pride in their future.

The Time has come to Properly Recognize our First Americans with a
National Native American Holiday.

Dear Colleague:

Native Americans are the original inhabitants of the land that now constitutes the United States.  They have helped develop the fundamental principles of freedom of speech and separation of powers that form the foundation of the United States Government.  And they have served with valor in all of America's wars beginning with the Revolutionary War through the present day.  This is why I have introduced H. Res.76, to urge the establishment and observation of a paid legal holiday in honor of Native Americans.

This resolution would provide the recognition that Native Americans deserve for their contributions to the United States, as individuals and as a people.  Join me in encouraging awareness about the significant role that Native Americans and their ancestors have played in the formation of the freest country in the world.  Let’s show a strong united government-to-government relationship between each and all the Native American Nations and the U.S. Federal Government.  To become a co-sponsor, please contact Julie Barkemeyer in my office at 5-6161.

House Resources Committee:
>From United Native America

As to house resolution 76 calling for a federal national holiday for Native Americans before your committee at this time, the Congressional Indian Caucus request that you recommend the resolution 76 go before the full congress for a vote.

Resolution 76 is fully supported by the 108th Congressional Indian Caucus with over one hundred members. It is our desire to fully enact this national holiday for Native Americans.

The Congressional Indian Caucus has sent forth this national holiday bill, with the understanding that it is fully supported by the vast majority of all Native Americans and Americans alike.

House resolution 76 is supported by Tribal resolutions calling on the federal government to enact this more than well deserved national recognition of the first Americans. The US Senate recognizes that the federal and state governments are set up and based on the American Indians tribal governments foundation.

It is past time for our government to pay tribute to all tributes Native Americans have given to form the most freest country on earth, America. The time has come for America to enact this national holiday for the first people of this land we today call America, the true home land of the Native Americans.

Resolution 76 stands for what America is all about, it's past, present and future. America as a whole stands waiting to enact this national holiday recognition.
